By decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus (№ 1842, November 25, 1999) Collection funds of live plants and Herbarium of world flora introduced plants of Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus received the status of a scientific object amounting national heritage registered in the State List under № 1.
The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus should be considered responsible for proper functioning and preservation of the scientific object.

According to preliminary estimations the Garden's live plants collections maintain specimens of more then 9,500 species, subspecies, forms, and sorts belonging to 1,230 genera from 232 families.
